Grew up in Corrales, New Mexico — the same town as the Baer family. Father was a UNM professor. Attended Sandoval Elementary and Cibola High School, then Cornell University (Government and Physics). Interned for Senator Jeff Bingaman. Founded two companies, GoBox Software and ModernArts. Elected to the New Mexico House of Representatives in 2008. Served as President of the New Mexico Renewable Energy Industries Association. Also a jazz guitarist, with an album titled “Bent to Be.”

Relationship to Jesse Rodefer

Jesse Rodefer, a Zomeworks spokesman named in 2000- and 2002-era archive sources, is Benjamin’s son. Benjamin’s own biography page at rodefer.com states he “has a son named Jesse Rodefer.” His music page also lists Jesse among musicians he has “performed and recorded with,” confirming the two are both family and musical collaborators. A 2026-07-19 research pass had identified the musical-collaborator connection but could not confirm the family relationship; a 2026-08-10 re-fetch of the biography page found the explicit parent-child statement.
